A crew member stands a vigilant watch a board the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Black Fin as the Cutter escorts the nuclear submarine the U.S.S. Los Angeles as it departs following a five day visit to the Port of Los Angeles. This was the LOS ANGELES’ first visit to it’s namesake in more than thirty years.

The BLACK FIN was accompanied by four 25 foot homeland security response boats from the Coast Guard’s Marine Safety and Security Team based in San Pedro and a HH-65A "Dolphin" Short Range Recovery Helicopter from Air Station - Los Angeles.
